One of the evening’s recipients was awarded $5,000 toward the completion of her bachelor’s degree. Standing alongside her was a previous PhillySEEDS scholarship recipient who received assistance three years earlier and is now on track to graduate next year.
Seeing the progress of a past recipient alongside the beginning of another recipient’s journey demonstrated the lasting impact that community investment can have. Financial assistance can open a door, but encouragement, recognition, and continued support help individuals walk through it with confidence.
